The RN in our Senior Behavioral Unit collaborates with other care providers including the treating psychiatrist. to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care across the continuum. Sign On Bonus up to $25,000. Current license to practice professional nursing issued by the State of Pennsylvania Current CPR Certification Assesses patient and family needs upon admission and throughout stay, up until the discharge. Plans for population specific care. Administers medications appropriately and safely. Provides medication education at time of dispensing. Manages emergency situations as they arise. Uses critical thinking skills when interpreting patient data. Formulates and implements care according to the Standards of Practice, policy and procedure. Directs and coordinates patient care team. Delegates tasks appropriately to ancillary staff. Evaluates and documents care administered and patient response to care. Provides education based upon patient needs. Reviews the treatment plan each shift to ensure that the target dates are current. Attends each treatment team and/or provides feedback on the patient’s progress toward goals. Documents each shift to the treatment plan by stating which treatment plan problem and goals were addressed in the shift summary note. Exercises competencies in the care and management of ECT patients. Facilitates direct care to patients, which includes facilitating social and emotional needs, supervising medication schedules and evaluating patient progress. Collaborates with a variety of interdisciplinary professionals to best meet the patient’s needs. Creates a supportive environment for the patients that supports recovery. Maintains a safe environment through the use of monitoring devices/technique and restraining techniques where deemed necessary. Maintains a safe environment of care. Adheres to Standards of Behavior. Completes all admission forms including consent for treatment and release of information within 24 hours of admission. Completes all components of discharge summary and same summary to record. Practices compassionate care model. Ensures all documentation meets meaningful use and core measure requirements. Completes all other duties within Scope of Practice as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Current license to practice professional nursing issued by the State of Pennsylvania Current CPR Certification
