Position's Purpose and Essential Functions: Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions. May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Verifies stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-3 years of clinical experience in a related field. May be expected to meet certain state certifications. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Applicants Job Requirements Include: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB), Texas State Board of Pharmacy Registration ACPE accredited SCAT IV certification. Demonstrates computer skills, calculations, arithmetic, English, and grammar. 2 Letters of Recommendation Preferably 3-5 years pharmacy experience in hospital setting Current AHA BLS Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility. Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Pharmacy is now hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician I to work with the at LMC's 326 bed acute care hospital. The department is a secure unit in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center. This is a busy department that sometimes requires flexibility in scheduling. Employees report directly to the Director of Pharmacy. The Hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio.
