University Hospital is unique in the region for many services, including central Ohio’s only adult solid organ transplant program and a groundbreaking Center for Neuromodulation, which pioneers procedures such as deep brain stimulation that can dramatically improve the lives of people with specific neurological and psychiatric symptoms. 48 bed progressive care unit mostly medical rather than surgical patients with high acuity and a balance of step down ICU patients. The RN in the PCU is responsible for managing and providing care for patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment. PCU RN's monitor cardiac and other critical vital signs and detect any changes, thereby enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations. Night shift with an every other weekend requirement; 3 - 12 hour shifts per week; patient ratio 3:1 or 4:1 based off acuity Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferably in ICU step down, ICU from a smaller hospital, med/surg and telemetry base foundation preferred For eligible faculty and staff The OSUMC offers: • Extremely competitive compensation package • Free tuition to Ohio State University and 50% off for any spouse or children • Competitive shift differentials on top of your base rate • Pension or 403B retirement plans with matching up to 13% • 10 paid holidays (2.5x pay on those holidays)

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing; Bachelors degree in Nursing required or proof of enrollment in BSN completion program. Current Ohio license.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in ICU step down preferred, ICU experience from a smaller hospital preferred, med/surg and telemetry base foundation experience preferred
