There are a large percentage patients on research trials. Oncology nursing at our large academic medical center is able to care for patients and families across the care continuum, is autonomous with many nurse managed protocols. We administer complex chemotherapies. We have a lower nurse patient ratio than medical surgical units as there is a high expectation of patient and family education, nursing assessment, and specialization. We are unique in that after learning to care for many of our patients we train nurses to care for ICU patients. Required Qualifications

Must maintain active RN licensure in the state of Maryland. Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing preferred. Associate Degree candidates may be considered, provided they are either currently enrolled, or will shortly be enrolled in an accredited RN to BSN program. Eighteen months of recent RN experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

EPIC experience preferred Analyzes patient care as well as data to deliver and evaluate care. Ability to use a computer keyboard to input and obtain data. Use physiologic monitoring and patient care equipment such as defibrillator, or glucose machine.
