Currently recruiting Critical Care RN's for a phenominal facility in Springfield, IL. If you are looking to make a difference as an RN in critical care, this position is for you! CALL OR apply today! Responsible for delegation, supervision, and provision of nursing care for a designated group of patients through utilization of the nursing process. Provides age-appropriate care. Participates in research when appropriate and incorporates research findings into evidence-based clinical practice. Contributes to quality improvement processes. Adheres to MMC Mission, Vision, and Values, the Nursing Division Mission, Vision, and Philosophy, the ANA Code of Ethics and the Illinois Nursing Act. Specifications: Licensed as RN in State of Illinois. BSN preferred. Current BLS/CPR certification per policy. Must be able to position and/or transfer an average adult patient and possess gross coordination sufficient to perform other patient care duties as required. Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing. Must be able to perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections. Environmental working conditions include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue, contagious diseases and/or radioactive or other potentially hazardous materials. The following units may have open positions, but placement will be determined based on candidate interest and hiring needs. These are not float positions. Unit Descriptions: 2EMed: General Medical unit that also includes 8 IMC beds for patients requiring an increased level of care, including ventilators. IMC has bedside and central station monitoring. There are many opportunities for IVs, nursing treatments, and medication administration. 2B: General Surgical unit that also includes 16 IMC beds for closer observation and increased interventional care. IMC has bedside and central station monitoring. Focus is on GI, vascular, and trauma of middle to older adults. 4G: Neurology/Neurosurgery unit caring for stroke, head injury, neurosurgical intervention and general medical patients. This unit also includes 9 IMC beds for acute post-op craniotomies and other medical patients who require closer observation, including ventilators. IMC has bedside and central station monitoring. 2C: Surgical Trauma ICU. 15 bed unit that focuses on patients who have experienced critical illness as a result of trauma or surgery requiring critical care recovery. Charge nurses serve as Code Team and Rapid Response Team nurse leaders. 5C: Regional Burn Center. 10 bed unit that cares for pediatric and adult patients with all levels of burn injury. In the Burn Center, care is provided from admission to discharge or transfer. Therefore, it is considered critical care, intermediate care, and an early rehabilitation facility. This unit also receives medical/surgical ICU patient overflow as needed. 6C: Cardiac Surgery ICU. 8 bed unit that cares for all open heart, thoracic, and some vascular procedures. It is an extremely fast-paced ICU environment, including complicated AMI and intra-aortic balloon pumping. 7C: Medical/Surgical ICU. 15 bed unit that cares for all medical and surgical diagnoses, including therapeutic hypothermia and CRRT. Charge nurses serve as Code Team and Rapid Response Team nurse leaders. Required Qualifications

Licensed as RN in State of Illinois. BSN preferred ADN accepted Current BLS/CPR certification per policy.

Preferred Qualifications

1+ years experience as a critical care RN in a hospital unit.
